Serial Console Settings

The SpammerTrap comes with a RS232 serial cable that can be used to establish a command line driven console with the SpammerTrap. You will need another computer that you have remote access to already in order to proceed.

A typical example is listed below:

1. Remote Desktop to a Windows machine that is connected via the supplied RS232 cable to the SpammerTrap
2. Open the HyperTerminal application (usually under applications/communications)
3. Give the session a name, click ok
4. Choose the communication port you have the RS232 cable plugged into (default it COM1), click ok
5. Configure the port settings, then click ok

•     Bits per second: 9600
•     Data bits: 8
•     Parity: None
•     Stop bits: 1
•     Flow control: None

Press the enter key a few times, you should now have a login prompt. If you do not see the login prompt you will have to continue trouble shooting with an attached Keyboard, Video and Mouse (KVM).
