Configure SpammerTrap as Smart Host or SMTP Relay |
|
|
OverviewThe SpammerTrap has the ability to filter inbound as well as outbound email at the same time. Outbound email will be checked for spam and viruses as inbound email would, but the rules sets are less restrictive. In the default configuration, if SpammerTrap detects an outbound spam or virus, the administrative contact will receive an immediate email notification. This can be disabled from the Advanced Configuration screen if desired. No additional modification or changes need to be made to the SpamemrTrap to start filtering outbound email. All of the changes will be in your internal mail server. Please see below for instructions pertaining to your particular mail server. If you experience problems or your mail server is not listed, please refer to your vendor’s documentation for instructions on enabling a relay host.
